Vanishing Venice is a small edition fine art photography book of poetic text and calligraphic illustrations by Carolyn Carlson, an American-born contemporary dancer, choreographer, poet and calligrapher. Carlson has distinguished herself as a dance figure in both Venice and Paris. Co-authored with Hal Eastman, this box set of Vanishing Venice also included 10 signed 12″ x 12″ fine art prints from the book. The Deluxe Clamshell construction that held the set was made of paperboard and wrapped in Halflinnen Dutch Sailcloth, made by Van Heek in Holland and imported by Ecological Fibers. The cover featured an apropos blind deboss of the title, subtle and at times vanishing in the texture of the premium linen wrap.
